The Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation is a federal tax-exempt organization (FEIN 02-0603467) and your contributions are tax-deductible. All contributions will be directed to athletic, physical education and certain academic enrichment programs of the Manhattan Beach Unified School District.

Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation History

The Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation was formed in 2002 to provide financial support for physical education and
 athletic programs in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District. Since our inception, the Foundation has:

Contributed over $500,000 to the development and repair of the all-weather track at Mira Costa High School;

Supervised and provided over $300,000 in funding for the renovation of Fisher Gym at Mira Costa High School;

Funded grants for purchases of instruments, orchestral literature, teacher training and conferences, physical education equipment  and gym mats throughout the Manhattan Beach Unified School District;

Funded over $800,000 in costs related to the installation of an artificial turf field in Waller Stadium
on the campus of Mira Costa High School:

Assisted the Manhattan Beach Unified School District by administering after-school programs, Camp VIP and
       the Mira Costa Summer School Program with profits earmarked for grants to the School District.
 


MIRA COSTA TURNS 60!!!!!
Mira Costa High School turns 60 years old this year and will be proudly hosting a 60 year all – class reunion on July 24th from 10am to 4pm. While many current Costa students will be assisting on the day of the reunion by providing tours and staffing the reunion tents, the reunion committee will need assistance at the information and merchandise booths. If you’d like to assist, please let us know.

Rob Toren
Winner of the 2009 – 2010 South Bay Ford Mustang Raffle

Rob Toren, a parent of freshman Costa student Austin Toren, is the 2010 winner of the Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation – South Bay Ford Mustang raffle. Over 9,000 tickets were sold and over $45,000 raised for more than twenty athletic and educational booster clubs and support organizations on the Mira Costa, Manhattan Beach Middle School and Grandview campuses. The raffle ran during the school year and this year’s winner was selected in late May.
MBAF thanks Gary Primeaux and Cindy Palm from the South Bay Ford for their generous donation –
this was the seventh annual Ford Mustang Raffle!
During the life of the raffle, over $335,000 has been raised in support of
the Manhattan Beach Unified School District organizations, clubs and support groups.


Pennekamp Parents Win Softball Title



The parents of Pennekamp Elementary emerged as the victors in the fourth annual Ross Kay – Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation softball tournament held June 14, 2009 at the Marine Avenue baseball complex in Manhattan Beach. The Pennekamp parents beat the Meadow parents in the finals. Teams from Meadows, Grandview, Pacific, and the Manhattan Beach Middle School also participated in this event which raised over $11,000 for the Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation and for grants for physical education and athletic programs in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District.

Robinson Hoopsters Take Basketball Title



They play great basketball down at Robinson Elementary! The Robinson parents won their second consecutive Scott Millington – Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation Basketball Tournament on May 2, 2009, held at the Manhattan Beach Middle School. Robinson nudged the parents of Pennekamp in the final game with teams from Pacific, Meadows, Grandview and American Martyrs also participating and raising more than $10,000 for Athletic Foundation programs. Congratulations, Robinson! Bring on the Los Angeles Lakers!
